Human beings tend to spend a great deal of energy and attention on either regret about the past, or anticipation of the future. Neither of these allows the individual to feel truly alive. The past is gone, no longer exists, and the future doesn’t yet exist. So, if your focus is on either of these, you are pouring energy into things that aren’t real. The present moment is all you have; learning to live fully in each moment allows you to let go of everything else that would deplete you of the energy and focus you need to live a rich, full life.


Generally, we work with clients between 1-8 one-hour visits, depending on the topic and nature of your coaching or therapy. 



What is NLP Therapy?

NLP Therapy is categorised in psychotherapy as a brief therapy, meaning this form of therapy takes place in a brief amount of time compared to traditional psychotherapy. On average we work with individuals, couples and families for between 4-8 one hour sessions. We are able to help with a variety of issues including: anxiety, depression, stuckness, fears/phobias, low self esteem, self confidence, self worth, anger, guilt, addictions, health problems, fertility, stuttering, shyness, and more. 


Why Therapy or Counselling?

It could be because you feel or know that there is something wrong in your life. It is not right, it is holding you back, ruining your life and preventing you from being the person you know you could be.

You may know what this something is : somebody may have put a label on it such as anxiety, depression, OCD, PTS ,  bi-polar or many of the hundreds of classifications that exist to attempt to explain or "diagnose" these problems.

You also know how it feels for you: "I get embarrassed", "I blush when I talk to people", "I cant leave the house", "I am afraid of ....spiders, lifts, aeroplanes". "I feel scared and anxious ", or "I feel tired and weary all the time, I just can't be bothered with anything", "I get angry and at times violent and it is ruining my career, my relationship and my life". Or it may be more vague than this such as "I feel lost without purpose" ,   

NLP Psychotherapy offers a way to overcome these difficulties. It helps you focus on the change that you want and the outcome you desire; the life that you want to achieve. Because of this focus on the solution rather than the problem, NLP has a superb record of dealing with a range of issues  very quickly. Clients are often amazed that a problem that has been with them for many years can suddenly evaporate; often in a few sessions.

NLP as an Alternative Healing Technique

Alternative healing is a phrase commonly used to represent "non-conventional" approaches to health, however it has become well established science that there is a mind body connection to healing. The mind body connection is a real process, and therefore alternative healing is a real process. The activity of every single nerve in our body and brain is modulated by genetic messenger molecules, and remembering that the body has the innate ability to heal itself, using non-medical alternatives to healing can provide amazing results.

The mind-body connection suggests the concept of state dependent learning, memory and behaviour, that when we learn something new, our body would be in a particular emotional state, would behave in a certain way, and that this would be committed to long term memory. This is a simple explanation of a very complex concept!

It provides some of the explanation why we always FEEL the same when we REMEMBER something important and BEHAVE the same in response to it LEARNING to carry on doing, remembering and feeling the same thing again.

Psychologists and neuroscientists are harnessing the power of the unconscious mind to use its resources to help the body heal itself. The ‘placebo effect’ or ‘placebo response’ in many drug trials is the same: some people are given the drug whilst others have a placebo. Even those taking the placebo have some improvement in symptoms compared to a control group. This shouldn’t make sense, after all they didn’t receive the drug, but the unconscious mind had enough information to believe it was having the drug and mobilized the body’s systems to compliment this. We don’t know how all this is working but we do know many ways to achieve the outcome of the mind/body helping us to make changes and get well.

Some of the Problems and Issues that can be addressed with NLP Therapy

Self confidence and self esteem: It is a negative state of mind that can hold people back from achieving their goals or fulfilling their full potential. Causes of low confidence vary and can be due to events in childhood or adulthood. NLP, Time Line Therapy™ and Hypnosis are highly effective in increasing a person’s confidence levels.

Phobias : A phobia is an intense, irrational reaction of fear to specific external events, objects, people or situations that cause a person to not function in a normal manner. They are sometimes so severe that they can add huge restrictions in a person’s life.

Smoking : Smoking is a very unhealthy habit to indulge in that can lead to a whole host of physical ailments and illnesses in later life. The smoker will learn to be a ‘non-smoker’ and will learn new behaviours that will result in them no longer feeling a need to reach out for a cigarette using NLP.

Weight Loss: Excess weight gain is not just because of overeating or a slow metabolism. It can also be as a result of deeper emotional issues that NLP therapy can allow the client to get rid of emotional baggage and then working on weight loss itself.

Limiting beliefs : This can be a belief about yourself that holds you back in life, e.g. I don’t feel I’m good enough, I’m not good with money, I’m a failure, etc. This negative self-talk creates a vicious circle because the more we re-emphasise this limiting belief, the more it becomes an ingrained habit and affects our behaviour and belief system. With NLP, these negative beliefs can be deleted and new positive beliefs are created so as to help people move forwards with their lives and to achieve success.

Stress : In today’s modern world where many of us are caught up in the rat race, with stress at work and constant bombardment of negative news in the media, it’s no wonder that many of us may suffer from stress at some point in our lives or on an ongoing basis. It’s been proven that a high percentage of physical illnesses and ailments are caused by stress and a build up of negative emotions which if not released through therapy, can accumulate in the body and cause physical and emotional problems later in life. This is known as the mind-body connection. Optimum relaxation can be achieved through NLP that will be of tremendous benefit to the person.

Relationship problems : Many of us have experienced relationship problems at some point in our lives, whether it’s with a partner, business colleague or boss, friends or family. We can help you to transform your relationships and to help you change yourself so that other people not only respond to you but you respond differently to other people’s behaviours. We can change  ourselves and our responses to external events.
